What We Offer

IV Sedation

We understand at Midtown Dental that visits to the dentist can cause a lot of stress and anxiety for patients. This is why our dentists offer IV sedation to help patients feel comfortable and relaxed during their visit.

IV (intravenous) sedation is a conscious sedation treatment, meaning that you will be aware of where you are and what is happening, and able to follow any instructions provided by our dentist. Prior to providing you with IV sedation, you will meet with our dentist one-on-one to discuss your medical history, dental needs and any other relevant factors to determine if IV sedation is the best option for you.

IV sedation provides medication directly into your bloodstream to help you relax quickly and feel comfortable during your appointment. This type of sedation is very safe, but we will monitor you closely throughout your entire treatment to ensure that there are no complications. Patients often feel as though they have slept through their treatment following their procedure and do not recall many of the details of their visit.

You will need to bring someone with you to drive you home from our office. We also recommend that someone remain with you for several hours after you have arrived home, until the medication has worn off.

We invite you to contact our office today for more information about IV sedation and to schedule your consultation with our caring dentist. We look forward to providing you with a comfortable dental visit.

Oral Sedation

If you suffer from fear or anxiety about visiting the dentist, ask our dentist about oral sedation. At Midtown Dental, we are determined to make our office a place where our patients can be comfortable and relaxed. If oral sedation is right for you, you’ll be given a pill that you will take prior to your appointment with one of our dentists to help you be at ease.

Oral sedation is a form of conscious sedation that we may recommend to ensure that you have a comfortable experience each time you visit our office. Administered in pill form, oral sedation is simple and easy to use. Because oral sedation is a form of conscious sedation, you will remain awake during the treatment, but you will feel more relaxed and at ease. There are many other benefits to sedation dentistry, including:

  • With oral sedation, you simply need to take a pill. It is quick and easy to use.
  • There are no needles involved.
  • It produces the necessary amnesic effect for a comfortable experience.
  • Oral sedation typically costs less than other forms of sedation.

If you and our dentist determine that oral sedation is right for you, you will be prescribed a pill that will help you relax. You will also receive instructions to take the pill before your scheduled appointment; be certain to follow the specific instructions included with your pill. It is important that you have a family member or friend drive you to and from your appointment to provide maximum safety to yourself and others. When you arrive at our office, you will be awake but extremely relaxed. You may feel drowsy, and it is not unusual for you to not remember all of the details of your appointment.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

If you feel anxious, fearful or uncomfortable when visiting the dentist, ask our dental team about nitrous oxide sedation. We offer this mild sedative to help you relax and feel more at ease when receiving treatment in our office.

Do you ever feel nervous about visiting the dentist? Does your upcoming treatment make you feel anxious? If so, you may benefit from nitrous oxide (N20) sedation at our office. Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a nitrogen-oxygen mixture that you inhale through a nose mask during your treatment. As you breathe in the nitrous oxide, you will experience a relaxed or even euphoric sensation. Nitrous oxide can help you feel calm and at ease throughout your treatment. Nitrous oxide sedation is very safe: the effects will wear off within just a few minutes after we remove your nose mask, and you can legally and safely drive yourself home after your appointment.

Nitrous oxide is a good option for any of our patients who suffer from dental anxiety or dental phobia. If you feel anxious because you are receiving a treatment you have not experienced before, or if you simply dislike the sounds and sights of the dental office, we may recommend nitrous oxide to help you feel more relaxed. Be certain to discuss your concerns with our dentist and team before your visit so we can help you feel more comfortable during your treatment.

Dental Implants

At Midtown Dental, our dentists have extensive training in dental implant placement and restoration. Dr. Vikas Khanna and Dr. Amreesh Khanna, both completed residency training for one year at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Yahsiva University) in New York City. In this training program both dentists had the opportunity to place and restore multiple implants, from single teeth replacement to the replacement of an entire mouth with dental implants. Our Dentists are able to place these implants to take someone who has no teeth and full dentures to a point where they have a full set of teeth supported by implants. Our goal at 9th Avenue Dental is to provide you with a solution for your missing teeth that will last you the rest of your life. Cost of Dental Implants is often a concern for patients as it can be a costly procedure, our goal is to provide you with an affordable option to replace your teeth while providing you with the best quality. We provide no charge consultations for Dental Implants so be sure to give us a call and meet one of our dentists to have your unique situation assessed.

When you have lost one or more teeth, our dentist may recommend replacing them with dental implants. An implant replaces your entire tooth, including the tooth root, to give you a replacement that looks, feels and functions like your original tooth.

Dental implants are lasting, stable tooth replacements that can be used to replace one missing tooth, several missing teeth or complete arches of teeth. The dental implant post, which is a screw made of titanium, is surgically placed in the jawbone at the site of the missing tooth. It replaces the missing tooth root and ensures that your dental restoration is stable. A period of healing is then often required to allow the bone to begin to bond with the biocompatible post.

Following this healing period, our dentist will place the dental implant restoration, or replacement tooth, which fits on top of the implant post. Depending on which teeth are missing and your personal dental needs, your implant restoration might be a dental crown, dental bridge, or a complete or partial denture. Each dental implant restoration is custom-made to fit your smile comfortably and aesthetically.

Replacing a missing tooth can restore your smile to optimal health, function and appearance. A dental implant is a great option for restoring your smile because the implant is designed to look, function and feel just like your natural teeth, and with proper care, it can last a lifetime.

Full-Mouth Rehabilitation

If you require multiple restorative and cosmetic treatments to regain your healthy smile, consult with our dental professionals to explore full mouth rehabilitation. This treatment allows our dentists to completely redesign and reconstruct your smile so that you can once again enjoy the benefits of a healthy mouth.

Full-mouth reconstruction is a dental treatment that can restore your smile if it has suffered severe injury, damage or decay. Full-mouth reconstruction often involves restoring many or all of the teeth in the mouth. Depending on your specific dental needs, full-mouth reconstruction can include several types of dental treatments, including:

  • Dental bonding
  • Dental bridges
  • Dental crowns
  • Dental fillings
  • Dental implants
  • Dental inlays or onlays
  • Dental veneers
  • Dentures (complete or partial)
  • Periodontal (gum) treatment
  • Root canal treatment
  • Tooth extraction

During your personalized consultation with our team, we will help you determine which of our high-quality treatments are best suited to improving your smile. The goal of full-mouth reconstruction is to restore the health, function and appearance of your smile. Our experienced dentist and team are pleased to provide full-mouth reconstruction to help you achieve a healthier, more attractive smile.

You may benefit from full-mouth reconstruction if your smile is affected by any of the following dental problems:

  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Cracked or fractured teeth
  • Tooth decay
  • Periodontal disease (gum disease)
  • Missing teeth
  • Infection
  • Dental injury or trauma

Implant-Supported Dentures

If you need to replace an entire arch of teeth, our skilled dentists may recommend that you receive implant-supported dentures. This treatment gives you a natural and stable result without the cost of replacing each individual tooth with an implant!

If you are looking for a stable, lasting solution for multiple missing teeth, our dentists may recommend implant-supported dentures. Implant-retained dentures are very similar in form to traditional dentures; however, they are stabilized by dental implants. Very often, denture wearers complain that dentures become loose and “float” around the mouth, limiting their ability to eat and speak comfortably. Implant dentures are a cost-effective solution, and in many cases, we can even retrofit an existing denture with implants.

The first step in anchoring your denture with dental implants is the placement of the implants. The dental implants, which are similar in appearance to screws, are surgically inserted into the jawbone in order to securely anchor your denture. While the specific number of implants required will depend on your individual needs, most cases require four to six dental implants per denture. Once the implants have been placed and allowed sufficient healing time, your denture is attached on top. Implants provide your denture with exceptional stability. In fact, many patients report that their implant-retained dentures feel and function like their natural teeth.
